The latest buzz surrounding Black Ops 6 has emerged, shedding light on the game's pre-order availability at GameStop. A leaked image circulating online indicates that GameStop is gearing up to accept pre-orders for Black Ops 6 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X consoles.

This revelation marks a significant move, considering it extends the game's reach to a console that many had deemed obsolete nearly four years ago, upon the release of the PlayStation 5.

Insider Gaming has corroborated the authenticity of the leaked image through multiple reliable sources, confirming that Black Ops 6 will indeed be making its way to last-generation consoles. The absence of an Xbox One version in the image is clarified by insiders, indicating that the Series S|X edition will be cross-generation, ensuring compatibility with the Xbox One as well.

Initial whispers about Cerburus (Black Ops 6) being developed for past-generation consoles surfaced in February 2023, but concrete verification was elusive. However, after extensive discussions with GameStop personnel and game developers, Insider Gaming can now affirm its veracity.

Last year's installment, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, saw a release on last-gen consoles alongside PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms. While it was widely assumed to be the final Call of Duty title on older consoles, the continuity in utilizing the same engine prompts speculation on the decision to persist.

Regarding the potential release on the Nintendo Switch, amidst the Activision/Microsoft deal ensuring Call of Duty's presence on Nintendo platforms for a decade, Insider Gaming speculates that this integration may commence with the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, anticipated next year.

Official confirmation of these details is anticipated during the upcoming Call of Duty showcase scheduled for June 9. Stay tuned for more updates.
