While many fans of Red Dead Redemption have given up hope for the game coming to PC, a new datamine suggests it might happen soon. Known for finding out things about the series before, insider Tez2 discovered hints about the game in Rockstar Games' launcher.

According to him, an official description of the game, stating that it's "now playable on PC," can easily be found on the developer's website. He says the system is set up for this information to be highlighted within the company's advertising system.

Information regarding the PC version of Red Dead Redemption was reportedly added on Monday (13), indicating that an announcement might be imminent. In 2023, the game received native versions for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, but Xbox Series X|S was left out due to its backward compatibility with the original Xbox 360 version.

Red Dead Redemption Could End a 14-Year Wait

If the western game does make its way to PC, Rockstar Games might at last bring to a close a 14-year-long wait. The port is likely to be handled by Double Eleven studio, known for bringing the game to PlayStation and Switch with some enhanced textures compared to the past.

At the time of the title's most recent release, Take-Two Interactive stated that a computer version was "up to the developers." Considering the company's tendency not to forgo easy profits and the public's reactions at the time of the statement, the lack of demand for the title doesn't seem to be an issue.

However, the recent release of Red Dead Redemption indicates that fans shouldn't get too excited about expecting a major visual overhaul or content updates. Yet, the game's debut on the platform would open the door for modders to add new textures, gameplay enhancements, and even new territories to Rockstar's work.
