New Fallout 4 Patch Boosts Console Performance, But Leaves PC Untouched

Some players are asking Bethesda to stop bringing updates to Fallout 4

Out just this Monday (13), the latest patch for Fallout 4 fixed some problems on the 'next-gen' consoles. But it seems like PC issues got left out, leading players to ask Bethesda to stop updating the RPG.

A review by Digital Foundry found that Xbox Series X|S players came out on top, getting a working performance mode at last. Thanks to the latest update, the game can now run smoothly at either 60 FPS or 40 FPS when the 120 Hz mode is turned on.

The Fallout 4 update also made its visuals look the same on both consoles, but the Xbox has a slightly wider field of view than the PlayStation 5. However, neither console can match the top quality of the PC version, even though the game is getting older.

Fallout 4 still has issues

Digital Foundry says that even though the update made the game better, there are still some glitches, possibly due to coding problems. On PC, these issues are clearer, especially with Bethesda not properly supporting ultrawide monitors.

Also, gamers with RTX cards still have to turn off shooting particle effects to avoid game freezes. This has been a problem since the GPU line's launch, and the developer hasn't shown any sign of fixing it.

These issues have prompted many PC players to gather on Reddit, urging Bethesda to stop updating this version of Fallout 4. They argue that if the company isn't improving the game, they should at least stop messing with its files and breaking mods.
