Rumor Suggests PlayStation 5 Could Become Compatible with PS3 Titles

Backward compatibility with PlayStation 3, a console known for its complex architecture, has been a challenging issue for Sony for years. However, recent rumors suggest that Sony is still striving to make the PS5 compatible with PS3 games.

This information comes from insider Shpeshal Nick on the XboxEra podcast (at 02:58:30 in the video below). He mentioned that Sony's plan is to select specific PS3 games and sell them individually on the PS Store.

Is PS3 Coming to PS5 with backward compatibility?

There was no mention of performance or visual improvements, but Nick noted that the focus is likely on first-party releases.

Currently, the only way to play PS3 games on your PS5 is through cloud streaming via the PS Plus Premium service.

An official addition of PS3 backward compatibility with PS5 would be a welcome feature, wouldn't it? Let us know in the comments below what you think about this rumor.
