Exciting news for PC gamers: The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is coming to PC soon, according to well-known industry insider Billbil-kun. The development of this highly awaited port started in 2021 and was completed by November 2023, suggesting that its release is just around the corner.

Billbil-kun has a solid reputation for accurate leaks, such as the May 2024 news that God of War: Ragnarok would be the next PlayStation game to hit PC. This makes his latest claim about The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered highly believable.

The first game's move to PC was handled by Iron Galaxy and Naughty Dog, though it faced many problems at launch. Hopefully, both teams have learned from those issues and will deliver a smoother experience this time. Since the remaster has been ready since November 2023, we can expect a polished release.

Sony's push to bring The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered to PC fits with their plan to expand popular games to new platforms. The first game became the seventh best-selling PlayStation title on PC, doing well even if it didn't match the success of the Horizon series.

This is probably a strategic decision. It's worth remembering that The Last of Us Part 1 arrived on PC close to the HBO series, so perhaps there is something planned for the sequel to also be released on PC next to the second season. Sony's current focus is on promoting the PC release of God of War: Ragnarok, which comes out on September 19th. So, we might not hear official news about The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered for a while.
